2 digit subtraction with ungrouping (borrowing)

Each week students work on their individual phonics skills through differentiated spelling lists.  Students practice with these words through word study stations every day.  For homework students should either click here for Spelling City or use another method of studying for their Friday spelling test.



Science/Social Studies:
Notable Americans
(Vocab:  tax, colony, slave, founding father, courage)
This topic can be practice on Pebblego.com and spellingcity using the vocabulary games.
Both of these use:
username: antlers
password: learn

The homework expectation each week includes:  20 minutes of reading each night (80 or more per week)and specific math skills on IXL.  
IXL is the new form of math homework.  We are really excited for this purchase from the district and we think you will love it too.  A direction page will be sent home, but here are the directions just in case you need them again.

1. go to https://www.ixl.com/signin/deercreekps
2. Enter your child's username and password in the upper right corner and click the button to sign in.  The username is your child's student number@deercreekps and the password is their first middle last initialswith their two digit month, two digit day, and two digit year of birth.  Username and password do not have any spaces or capitals.
3. Follow these steps:
*click on math
*choose the 2nd grade tab along the left side of the screen
*choose the assigned level and topic (this can be found in the weekly 2nd grade newsletter right here)
4. Continue to practice these skills until all the assigned topics reach mastery 100% by the due date.
